Wow. Well, it’s been a while since I’ve posted. Hasn’t it? I’ve been a little busy, but I also couldn’t quite get a topic to come forward. Tonight, it finally showed itself. Just some thoughts about “life on the road” so far and some pics from the past month.
In the past six weeks, we’ve come up against challenges that panicked us, or irritated us, and eventually made us proud of ourselves for figuring them out without having complete meltdowns.
We’ve had friends over, we’ve visited friends in their homes or out at restaurants – friends we rarely see. We’ve missed connecting with friends (sorry, RS) and we’ve been overwhelmed with socializing.
We’ve gone from super anxious about how our cats would adapt to relieved and happy that they’re chillin’ road cats now. (Well, maybe not while we’re in motion; but they’re getting there.)
We’ve had repairs done, bought a new car, and set appointments for ourselves in new towns. We’ve changed this RV from a motorhome to our home – changing out blinds for curtains, a table and chairs for bamboo desks, brass drawer pulls and knobs to a nice vintage silver/gray. We even named our RV (Raven’s Haven) and our new car (Poe). Get it? Haha!
I’ve started exercising (mostly) regularly – swimming and singing along to the karaoke singers on the patio earlier tonight. (Things you never thought you’d do.) I even signed up for our company fit challenge. (Nothing crazy, people. Calm down.)
We’ve accomplished a lot, reduced or removed some fears, and seen quite a few of our friends and family in just six short weeks. There’s more to do, more people to see, and more places to go and I love it! It makes me so happy that we chose this path!
