Getting Closer!

Just a quick update for everyone.

We’re still waiting to find out when we’ll have the RV ready to go. It’s finishing up at the mechanic’s shop (see Brian’s post) and we hope to know on Monday when they will actually be finished. Then we still need to get it dewinterized. We’re hoping to get it back from the mechanic early next week, so we can then take it in for dewinterizing and still be done by our current move-in date of March 10th. If not, I’ll be changing our campground reservations – again. It’s so frustrating because I just want to be in it (I’m excited to start our new life!), but I also know this is part of RV living and it’s good to get all this stuff handled before we move in with the cats.

In the meantime, we’re working on all the little last minute things: changing our address, setting up mail-forwarding, getting new driver licenses, signing up for Costco – mostly for the gas, prescriptions and optical – and more.

And, in case you haven’t heard, I am now working virtually! My boss worked his tail off making it happen and I really appreciate that. Yes, I could have gotten another job; but I love working for him and our team. Leaving was an option, but a sad one, and I’m super glad it worked out. Thank you, Dan! You know, he and his boss have both said it couldn’t have happened if it weren’t for me being a great employee (or something to that effect); but how many other companies would even try to get a position that has never been allowed to work remotely in the past, and a low-level position at that, to be virtual? I mean, really. They got told ‘no’ along the way and they just kept trying. I’m grateful for their efforts and faith in me. I’m truly blessed.20180228_125939.jpg

Well, that’s about it for this week. Hopefully, you’ll all see pics of us moving in next weekend. Prayers, blessings, crossed fingers, good juju, positive thoughts, whatever you want to send out to support that is welcome! Thanks!

  1. So excited for you Julie and Brian. Best of Luck and Safe Travels! We have a friend who is interested in doing the same thing. He is planning on getting an RV soon to do weekend trips but then to travel when obligations (grandchildren and retirement) work out. May I pass your blogg address to him so he can follow you? He is curious about bumps in the road, getting ready, what to consider etc. Will not do so until I hear from you.

    1. Of course! Judy, have your friend also check out the list of people we follow on the right side of our blog. Most of these folks have been full time RV’ing for at least 2-3 years.

  2. I imagine the mechanics will have the bus ready for you to go as soon as they get one more boat payment out of you. Hey, they’re only human!
